There’s a productivity technique that you’ve been believing in that is actually hurting your effectiveness and ability to get more done. 😯
Don’t feel bad. We’ve ALL been led to believe it.
The big lie that we’ve been told and that we have believed is that we CAN multitask successfully. People have worn it as a badge of honor. 🎗️
How many times have you heard someone say proudly, “I’m multitasking!” I’ve even bragged about doing it in the past myself. 😳
Multitasking seems like the perfect solution to getting more done. But it’s a lie! Only 2.5% of people can multitask successfully. I know I’m not among them. Are you? ❓
You might be thinking that you can multitask until the cows come home. 🐮 But the research is in…multitasking causes you to lose focus, decrease efficiency, reduce concentration, causes more mistakes, creates more stress, and diminishes your ability to think deeply. 😞
Why would you want that in your life?? 🤷🏻♀️
You may be a chronic multitasker if…
- You find yourself making too many mistakes.
- You feel mentally exhausted at the end of the day.
- You find yourself getting irritable when you’re trying to work.
- You feel frustrated because you don’t complete your to-do list.
- You are working too much and not getting enough accomplished.
- You feel buried under a mountain of tasks, but you’re not reaching your goals.
- Your projects take too long to complete.
Since I have minimized multitasking in my own life, I really feel like I’ve made great progress with my goals, my stress level, my energy, control of my time, and wasting time on things that don’t serve me.
Now, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to have some difficult conversations. I’ve had to learn to say no. I’ve had to set some boundaries. I had to take responsibility for my choices.
Achieve More Without Multitasking…
You can achieve more and gain control of your time without using extravagant devices like the isolator helmet or isolation pods. LOL 🙃
Remember that you are the CEO of YOU! You are in control of how you spend your time. You are in control of what you give your attention to. You are responsible for your productivity and results.
Don’t lose your productivity to multitasking and distractions. Start taking back control and achieve more while doing less!
